This Privacy Policy applies to the Michi Health application ("App") and the associated website operated by Michi Health ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use our cross-platform rehabilitation assistant.

By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information necessary to provide and improve the Michi Health experience.

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and secure authentication tokens. If you choose to sign in via a third-party provider (e.g., Google Sign-In), we receive your basic public profile data.
  • Health and Rehabilitation Data: As a rehabilitation assistant, the App collects user-generated data regarding your exercise routines, progress, and daily app usage. This data is strictly used to provide the core functionality of the App (tracking your rehabilitation progress).
  • Passive Health Metrics (Opt-In): If you explicitly enable Adaptive Health Sync, we access daily step counts and sleep duration via Google Health Connect or Apple HealthKit to dynamically adapt exercise intensity and rest pacing.
  • Device and Usage Data: We collect anonymous diagnostic data, crash reports, device identifiers (such as OS version and hardware model), and app interaction metrics to maintain app stability and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Michi Health application.
  • To authenticate users and securely manage accounts.
  • To analyze app usage and improve user experience.
  • To track and display your personal rehabilitation progress within the App.
  • To adapt exercise intensity and pacing dynamically based on passive energy/fatigue biometrics.
  • To communicate with you regarding updates, security alerts, and support messages.

3. Third-Party Services

Michi Health relies on secure third-party infrastructure to operate. We do not sell your personal data. However, we utilize the following services which may process data on our behalf:

  • Firebase Authentication: Used to securely verify your identity and manage login sessions.
  • Google Analytics for Firebase: Used to collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how users interact with the App.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: Used to securely log app crashes and technical errors.
  • Google Play Services & Health Connect: Used to facilitate app distribution and access authorized passive sleep and step data for AI exercise adaptation.

4. Health Data & Medical Disclaimer

Michi Health is not a medical device. The App is designed as a rehabilitation assistant to help track exercises and progress. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

Your health and rehabilitation data is considered highly sensitive. We do not share your health data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any unauthorized third parties.

5. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including data encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information.

7. Data Retention and Deletion Policy

Retention Period: Michi Health retains user account data, questionnaire responses, and daily recovery activity records for as long as your user account remains active, or as needed to provide you with personalized rehabilitation services. Passive health metrics (such as daily step count totals and sleep session durations) synced via Google Health Connect or Apple HealthKit are stored as daily summary snapshots on our secure servers and retained until you delete your account or disable health sync.

Health Connect Data Retention: Health data retrieved from Google Health Connect is processed locally on your device and cached only for active usage. Daily summary snapshots synced to our database are strictly retained for personalized exercise pacing and are never sold, rented, or transferred to third parties or advertising networks.

User Account & Data Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. You can delete your account and associated personal data directly within the Michi application under Settings > Account > Delete Account, or by submitting an account deletion request via our Data Deletion page. Upon receiving an account deletion request, all personal information, questionnaire history, and health summary records will be permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days.
